Kate Ferdinand is a much-loved TV personality, author and influencer, who is married to professional footballer Rio Ferdinand. In 2020, Kate and Rio welcomed their son Cree, and Kate is also a step-mum to Rio’s 3 children. Kate shared her journey to becoming a step-mum in the critically acclaimed BBC One documentary “Rio and Kate: Becoming a Stepfamily”.
Kate received an overwhelming response to the documentary with many viewers reaching out to her for advice. This inspired her to create her own dedicated online space for blended families in 2021 to help those navigating the complex dynamics of blended family life and teach them how to create a strong family unit. In 2022, Kate went on launch her ‘Blended’ podcast, where she and her guests; consisting of celebrities, listeners and experts, share their own experiences on a range of topics and give advice.
Kate is now a respected voice for blended families in the UK and she has become a relatable role model for many women. Her parenting journey has resonated with many, and she has been applauded for her searingly honest press interviews with The Times and with Fabulous magazine, who selected her to be the cover of their March 2021 Mother’s Day issue.
Kate also loves to share snippets of her home, her fashion choices and her fitness routine. She has collaborated with online fashion retailor Very on successful fashion and swimwear collections and she has also had popular fitness edits with sportswear brand Dare 2B, including a maternity range with the brand during her pregnancy. Kate also teamed up with children’s brand My 1sT Years for her ‘Kate Loves’ collection. Kate continues to work with global brands such as Ariel, Hot Point, Water Wipes and Meatless Farm and is an ambassador for social impact app We Are 8.
In 2019, Kate released her first book, ‘Fitter, Happier, Healthier: The Ultimate Body Plan’. The book sparked Kate’s passion for writing and she is currently writing her next book.
